Abstract
Lorestan art is the origin of the beliefs and convictions of the people who have created works of art by Lorestan art is the origin of the beliefs and convictions of the people who have created works of art by expressing themselves in a symbolic and symbolic way. In fact, this art is the origin of thoughts and ideas, imaginations, myths and rituals that are manifested in the lives of human societies in the form of artifacts. Lorestan artists have attached special importance to the depiction of animals in their works of art, which shows the importance and special place of animals in human life. The aim of this research is to examine animal motifs on artifacts of Lorestan province, inspired by symbolic mysteries. The approach of this research is qualitative and two field and documentary methods were used to collect data. The present research examines four groups of artifacts of Lorestan, including: bronze, petroglyphs, tombstones and hand-woven. The results show that the people of this region depicted animal motifs on their artifacts for two reasons: At first, people believed that they depicted some of the animals that could be dangerous to them and also depicted their role on their handicrafts to confront and dominate that animal. In the next stage, they depicted animals that were important economically and ritually.
