Abstract

one of the cultural manifestations and civilization of human societies are the calendars that have been created and spread among them. In addition to being a sign of social order and discipline, calendars; It is also a sign of their culture and worldview. Iranian society has faced various ups and downs in its historical course in terms of cultural and civilizational background and historical need for discipline in governance and social culture. Among these are the Iranian and Shia calendars, which were created by two different cultures with two different views and approaches. The Iranian Gahnameh was influenced by the Zoroastrian religion of Iran before Islam and Shia piety was also influenced by the new religion.Examining these two types of calendars enables a better historical-cultural judgment regarding the encounter between these two cultures. The main question in this article is what was the cultural and temporal content, similarities and differences of these two types of calendars? Both the Iranian-Yazdgerdi calendar and the Shia-Imami calendar are the heirs of their predecessors. But these calendars are related to Iran's geography in terms of content.Backgrounds, factors and political pressure from the government have been effective in the name and content of the calendars, and the colorful and significant cultural content of each has been tied to the political, religious, moral and emotional approach. Happy days in both calendars are much more colorful than sad days.However, the Iranian calendar is a numerical and quantitative calendar, but the Shiite calendars are intuitive and qualitative calendars
